Another year and we're back!

Okay, sorry about the absence. I have tried putting some things on here and gotten so frustrated cause I don't know how to do this blogging thing yet. But, I will keep trying because I don't want my wonderful friends to give up on us! Thanks, Susan, for the email and the reminder... Here goes another try....

This is Ryan, Lori, Me and Brandon as we competed in the Utah Valley Amazing Race! We took third place out of 30 teams, but really took 1st, you can hear our soap box about the whole thing if you ask us...

At least my music stand is being used for something... :)
I've been having jaw problems ever since August and haven't been able to play the clarinet, eat normally, or do a lot of other things. I had surgery on my jaw on Monday, June 9th. This picture was taken a few days after. Now that I've had the surgery (which also included taking out all four of my impacted wisdom teeth) I'm doing really well! Even with this surgery I won't be able to play the clarinet very much for the rest of my life, but the goal is to be able to play at all! Things are going well--I have my first of many, many doctor's appointments tomorrow and I will let you all know what the results are! Meanwhile, I'm supposed to 'refrain from talking' until July 1st, which has been even harder than not being able to eat solid foods for 6 weeks. It's been an interesting week so far, only 5 more to go!

Our Honeymoon

Josh and I went to Park City and Salt Lake for our honeymoon, and we had a blast! What a great idea to plan a trip right after the stresses of planning a wedding! Genius.

Mom made us a rice crispy treat wedding cake, because it is our favorite dessert. Josh insisted that we swipe one as we took off on our honeymoon, and we ate it the entire week. It was so good. Great job, mom!!

I'd have to say that my favorite activity was the zoo. It was so fun seeing the animals, but the best part was seeing Josh get so excited about going to the zoo. His favorite was the monkeys, and mine was the giraffes.

Can you believe how long Josh's arms are? Only slightly shorter than a gorilla's!

Josh got a little excited when we got to our hotel room because he thought we got the one with the rock-climbing wall. :)

Life in Ohio

No, Josh is not cringing because of my cooking! He will tell you himself he thinks I'm a good cook! Josh likes to re-heat his pizza perfectly, and in this picture he's worried about the crust getting dry, which is why he wrapped it in aluminum foil. So cute. This is Josh with his best friend, Matty Gutshall, a companion from his mission in California. We went on a double date with Matty and his girlfriend and had a "chemistry night," which means we blew things up. This is Josh and Matty putting mentos in diet coke over our balcony so that it will make a fountain. It was actually really cool, I thought. :)

Happy Birthday America!

4th of July was SO fun! These two pictures were taken after Josh and I watched the community fireworks.

Josh was so excited to blow things up, which I had no idea he enjoyed so much. :)

After the community fireworks we hung out with Josh's APX friends, and set off $300 worth of fireworks. I haven't seen Josh smile so big since our wedding!

Hiking at Old Man's Cave

Josh and I went to Old Man's Cave and

Conkle's Hollow on Sunday, July 1st for

our one month anniversary. It was so

gorgeous, and we had a lot of fun taking pictures.

I especially like this pictures of Josh, the

lighting worked out perfectly.

Our Wedding

Josh and I were married on June 1st. It was so fun! :)
It was such a blessing to go to the temple and marry my best friend
.

Josh says that I'm his best friend, too.

We are so glad we got married!

We owe a thank you to all of both of our families for your help and support, we couldn't have had such a perfect day without your love and encouragement! Thank you!

10 days of Marriage

10 awesome days have gone by now! After spending a week-long honeymoon in Salt Lake and Park City, and Josh and I are in Columbus, Ohio, getting our lives set up. We are having so much fun! This is Josh setting up the 32'' HDTV that he won from work, while I'm decorating with the only thing I could find--our wedding cards!
