Goodbye Basement

We aren't exactly sad to leave the basement at grandma and grandpa's house, but we have become a little attached to the place. We thought we'd take a couple of pictures to say goodbye..

I was just going to leave this picture without text, and see if anyone could figure out what I was doing but I figured it might need a little explanation. So I hate cutting onions, always have. But ever since high school I have figured out the greatest trick of wearing goggles while I cut them so that I don't cry. So here I am!

109th Ward Campout! July 11-12

For the ward campout we rode with a fun couple in our ward, Ken and Aimee Katschke, up to Blackhawk in Payson canyon. It was so fun to get smoky again! Someone in the ward brought a bag of massive marshmallows--way bigger than the normal big ones! When Josh first saw them he thought someone had cooked it that big and he couldn't stop laughing. Roasting the monster marshmallows was definitely a highlight.
Josh and Ken put up the Katschke's hammock and they felt pretty manly while doing so. Here is Josh showing off his mad muscles after he pulled that stick out of the ground. :)

Independence Day!!

For the 4th of July we went to Josh's mom's house in Springville, made sandwiches together, lit fireworks with Josh's brother Jake, and watched Father of the Bride 2, which has got to be one of my favorite movies! We had fun taking pictures of us swirling the fireworks, some of them turned out kinda cool...
You can see from that first picture that Josh is just as excited about fireworks as he was last year--and the fact that we had less to work with doesn't put him out at all. He is easily pleased with fire. :)

Savage FHE

Here's me and Josh at one of our FHE's this month. We have a newlywed FHE book that has been really fun to go through. For this activity we made poems out of each other's names and decorated them, it was fun!

Weddings!!!

So I think I'll keep a continuous wedding photo album thing on here since many of the people viewing this will know people I know and may want to see pictures from their weddings. This first one is Jason Allphin, whom many of us know and love. Ahhh! He's so cute! I'm so happy for them. He plays clarinet, she plays viola I think. Good for them. By the way, those of you that don't know... Jason switched his major to accounting! Shocking!

New Home

Okay, so here's the most exciting news ever: We are moving out of the basement!! We found a new place in Orem, and we will be moving in on August 8th. It is a 2-bedroom apartment in a 4-plex. We found it because a co-worker manages it and will be living above us. It is a really cute place and makes me feel like a real person. It's amazing how your dwelling can change how you feel about yourself! I hope many of you can come visit us there... I'll have to post pictures when I get some.

Summer Fun!

Howdy Friends! A couple weeks ago Josh and I went to a summer work party at the Scera Pool and here is a picture of me and Josh there. Technically, I wasn't supposed to be swimming yet, but it turned out fine and it was SO fun!!

June 9th--Surgery Day!

I've been having jaw problems ever since August and haven't been able to play the clarinet, eat normally, or do a lot of other things. I had surgery on my jaw on Monday, June 9th. This picture was taken a few days after. Now that I've had the surgery (which also included taking out all four of my impacted wisdom teeth) I'm doing really well! Even with this surgery I won't be able to play the clarinet very much for the rest of my life, but the goal is to be able to play at all! Things are going well--I have my first of many, many doctor's appointments tomorrow and I will let you all know what the results are! Meanwhile, I'm supposed to 'refrain from talking' until July 1st, which has been even harder than not being able to eat solid foods for 6 weeks. It's been an interesting week so far, only 5 more to go!

I don't exactly remember this picture picture being taken... I was pretty drugged up, but I look happy!

You're probably embarrassed for me, but don't be. I'm proud of my pictures--I am way less swollen than most people that just get their wisdom teeth out. Plus, who couldn't love my hairdo?

3D Movie--Creatures of the Black Lagoon!

Josh and I went to the first classic horror film --Creatures of the Black Lagoon. It was hilarious, the entire Varsity Theater would scream over anything just for effect. It was great. At least we got to keep the glasses and eat all the popcorn we wanted!

Another year and we're back!

Okay, sorry about the absence. I have tried putting some things on here and gotten so frustrated cause I don't know how to do this blogging thing yet. But, I will keep trying because I don't want my wonderful friends to give up on us! Thanks, Susan, for the email and the reminder... Here goes another try....

This is Ryan, Lori, Me and Brandon as we competed in the Utah Valley Amazing Race! We took third place out of 30 teams, but really took 1st, you can hear our soap box about the whole thing if you ask us...

At least my music stand is being used for something... :)
